Bowling Green Funding
Overview
This introduction provides an overview of a proposal regarding changes to bowling green funding. We are consulting with clubs via a survey to gather feedback and suggestions.
Why Change Funding?
The Council needs to save money due to budget pressures and the loss of £60,000 in funding by 2026/27 (£30,000 from this next fiscal year)
Main Plan:
- Work with bowling clubs to share maintenance costs.
- Save money due to funding cuts.
Why This Plan?
- To balance the budget.
- To keep services running with less money.
- To reduce costs from old assets.
Other Ideas:
- Stopping maintenance and letting clubs handle it was considered but not chosen.
Current Funding:
- £60,000 per year is being cut, starting with £30,000 in 2025/26.
Please see the attached Report for details of the proposal, and the Frequently Asked Question document we have provided to assist you in providing consultation responses to the survey provided.
