Proposed Solar Farm at Chamber House Farm Consultation

Closed 27 Jul 2015

Opened 12 May 2015

Overview

This consultation seeks views on the forthcoming planning application for a solar farm at Chamber House Farm Rochdale, OL10 1RL.

The proposals would cover 11.7 hectares (28.9 acres) of land and will generate up to 5.0 MW of clean energy annually.  This is sufficient to power the equivalent of 1,250 local homes, thus providing the energy needs of 1.6% of households in the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale.

With 5m spacing between panel rows, less than one third of the total site area would be under the cover of panels and 99.8% of the ground area of the site would support vegetation and be available for grazing.  This offers plentiful opportunity to enhance the local environment.

Public exhibitions on the proposals are being held at the following locations:

Thursday 21st May from 1:00pm – 19:00pm and on Friday 22nd May from 9:00am-1:00pm at Crimble Croft Community Centre, Heywood OL10 4HW.

Thursday 21st May 1.00pm to 7.00pm Heywood Civic Centre, LCpl Stephen Shaw MC Way, Heywood, OL10 1LW.
