Overview

St. Andrew’s CE Primary School (Dearnley) - Establishment of Nursery Class & Significant Enlargement

The Governing Body of St.Andrew’s CE Primary School and Rochdale Local Authority have withdrawn proposals published on 6th July 2013 for the establishment of a nursery class and the enlargement of the school. This is because the exact legal consultation procedure was not followed before those proposals were published. This decision was taken before Rochdale Council considered the published proposals.

The Governing Body of St.Andrew’s CE and Rochdale Local Authority have therefore decided to start fresh consultation on proposals to establish a 26 full-time equivalent place nursery class and to enlarge the school by admitting up to 45 children in each new year group with effect from September 2014.

All responses received in the earlier consultation will be carried forward and considered as part of this fresh consultation. Interested parties can also submit additional comments.

The proposed Nursery Class would be for 26 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) children, changing the age range of the school from 4-11 to 3-11, and the enlargement of the school would be to increase the admission number for each new successive year group to 45, from the current 30.

The proposals for the new nursery are put forward by the governing body of St.Andrew’s and the proposals for the enlargement of the school are put forward by Rochdale Local Authority. If approved these proposals would be implemented from 1st September 2014.

All the relevant documents are availble to download below.

If you want to make comments or views on the proposals, please do so by midnight on Sunday 20th October 2013.
