Play Area Strategy Consultation
Overview
The play area strategy recognises the importance of play provision facilities across the borough and the role they play in developing skills, reducing risk of childhood obesity and promoting good physical health and wellbeing for all.
Key elements of this strategy are:
- An up to date audit and review of each individual play area – its design and equipment
- An analysis of the spatial distribution of play areas by type and age range to see if there are areas of over and under provision
- An analysis of provision for families with physical and mental health disabilities
- A vision for future provision and maintenance
- Objectives which provide a strategic framework to enable the delivery of the vision
- A prioritized action plan for each Township with site specific investment or decommissioning recommendations for area where there is over-provision
Comments are welcome and can be made by email FAO Ian Trickett, Greenspace Development & Countryside Manager: environmental.management@rochdale.gov.uk
Closing date for comments is 1 August.
