Proposal for a Nursery Provision at St. Luke’s Church of England Primary School

Overview

The proposal is for the addition of a 26 FTE nursery class for 3-4 year olds at St. Luke’s CE Primary School, with effect from 1st September 2025. Maintained nursery settings are based on school sites. They offer teacher-supported learning through play - based around the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for 3-4-year-olds prior to their entry into school. This proposal presents an exciting opportunity to offer high-quality education to 3-4 year olds.

 From September 2025 there will be an increase in demand for nursery places.  Eligible families will be able to access up to 30 hours per week of early education, from the term after their child turns 9 months old until they reach school age. We are supporting the government initiative and families in the local area by proposing to open a nursery class for 26 children aged 3-4.
