Heywood - Long Term Plan for Towns

Closed 31 Aug 2024

Opened 1 May 2024

Overview

Heywood has been identified as one of 55 towns across the UK to receive funding and support totalling up to £20 million to regenerate the town centre

The aim is to make towns places where people and businesses want to invest, creating new jobs and breathing new life into our high streets and town centres.

Proposals will be developed by local people for local people: bringing together residents, business, and community leaders to devise and agree a shared vision for the future.

The money can be used to address three themes -

•            Safety and Security

•            High Streets, Heritage and Regeneration

•            Transport and Connectivity

The Town Board for Heywood’s Long-Term Plan wants to hear the views of local people on where this Government money should be spent or prioritised.

There will be more opportunities to give your views over the next 6 weeks via local groups and organisations and drop ins etc. and for the full 10 year term of the programme
