Have Your Say: Community Safety Plan Consultation 2026–2029
Overview
Rochdale Safer Communities Partnership brings together key local agencies—including the Council, Police, Fire, Probation, Health, and voluntary groups—to improve community safety. The partnership leads on the development of strategic responses to risks, coordinates prevention and intervention efforts and oversees the commissioning of appropriate services. We use data from threat assessments and resident surveys to identify the most serious issues affecting the borough.
Based on this, we've set out our proposed priorities for 2026–2029, grouped into key themes. Some are shaped by legal duties, including:
- Crime & Disorder Act 1998 – requires action to prevent substance misuse and reoffending.
- Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 – mandates collaboration to reduce serious violence.
- Domestic Abuse Act 2021 – requires joint efforts to tackle domestic abuse and support victims in safe accommodation.
We’re now consulting with you to gather feedback on these priorities and hear what matters most to you about crime and anti-social behaviour in our borough. Please read our executive summary linked below and feedback through the survey.
If you are experiencing a specific anti-social behaviour issue that is affecting you right now, please contact the Community Safety and Resilience Service, using the contact information in the link: Report antisocial behaviour | Rochdale Borough Council. To report a crime, contact the Police on 111. Remember, in an emergency dial 999.
