Rochdale Borough Draft Local Plan Consultation

Overview

The Rochdale Borough Local Plan, alongside the Greater Manchester Places for Everyone Joint Plan, will be the main land use planning document for the borough. It will support our ambitions for resilient and inclusive growth, help address key challenges and opportunities and guide the day-to-day decisions on planning applications up to 2039.

In 2024 we consulted on the scope of the local plan and the Integrated Assessment and ran a call for sites. We are now asking for your views on the Regulation 18 draft local plan and policies map via a public consultation which runs from Thursday 11th December 2025 to Thursday 5th February 2026. This consultation is an opportunity for you to have your say on this version of the plan and your responses will be used to help us prepare a final version of the plan in 2026.
